Andreas has substantial experience in M&A transactions, both in corporate and tax law. He focuses primarily on multinational transactions such as M&A and corporate reorganizations in preparation of a disposition or as part of a post-acquisition integration. He also advises on optimized VAT structures of multinational clients, on cross-border issues, and on the development, amendment, and implication of stock option plans and real property transactions as well as assists clients in tax audits.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Andreas was a senior tax manager in the Frankfurt tax practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where his primary focus was mergers and acquisitions. He has reorganized tax structures for several international and domestic clients to optimize their tax position and also has been involved in IPOs. In 1994, Andreas led a multinational team in an enterprise screening project for the East European Development Bank in St. Petersburg.
Andreas is a member of the Frankfurt Bar Association (Anwaltskammer) and the Frankfurt Tax Advisors Bar (Steuerberaterkammer). He has published numerous articles in publications such as Practical European Tax Strategies and Tax Planning International European Union Focus. He is fluent in German and in English.
