Adam Plainer practices in the areas of restructuring and formal corporate insolvency. He has acted for the leading accountancy firms on receiverships, administrations, and major liquidations as well as for U.K. clearing banks, U.S. investment banks, private equity houses, and boards in the restructuring of several major U.K. and European companies.
Recent assignments have included advising the Hagemeyer Group on the completion of its restructuring; advising certain hedge funds on the restructuring of British Energy and Eurotunnel; acting for the board of the Allders Group of companies; acting for Honda on its acquisition of the BAR Racing Team from the administrators; acting for WL Ross in the acquisition of the Collins & Aikman European operations from the administrators; and advising on the European aspects of the chapter 11 of Dana Corporation.
Adam is a member of the editorial board of Finance & Credit Law Review and the CBI Insolvency Law Panel. He lectures extensively and has written numerous articles on restructuring and insolvency-related topics. He is listed as a leading individual in restructuring and insolvency in Chambers Global The World's Leading Lawyers and in Chambers UK Guide (2007 editions).
