Our Clients
At Jones Day, we believe that the most meaningful accolades come from our clients. We are therefore extremely proud and gratified that Jones Day has been rated "Number One for Client Service" by the BTI Consulting Group in three of the last five years and that we were the most mentioned law firm in Corporate Counsel's 2005 survey of "Who Represents America's Biggest Companies."  (For a list of other honors, click here.)

Jones Day acts as principal outside counsel to, or provides significant legal representation for, more than half of the Fortune 500 companies. A sample of our corporate client base includes:

AOL, Bank of America, Bayer, BP, Chevron, Dell, Deutsche Bank, DirecTV, Eastman Kodak, Ernst & Young, Genentech, General Electric, General Motors, Goldman Sachs, Harman, IBM, JCPenney, JPMorgan, Lehman Brothers, Lucent, LUKOIL, Merrill Lynch, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Nestlé, PepsiCo, Pfizer, Procter & Gamble, sanofi-aventis, Société Générale, Sprint Nextel, Texas Instruments, Time Warner, TNK-BP, Total S.A., Toyota, Verizon, Verizon Wireless, The Washington Post, and Yahoo!  (For a more extensive list of clients, click here.)

We have plenty of noncorporate clients, too.  In June 2006, for example, we obtained a landmark settlement for Dr. Wen Ho Lee in his six-year battle with the U.S. government seeking compensation for unlawful and harmful leaks disseminated to the press during the investigation of security lapses at Los Alamos National Laboratory. We represent the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers ("ICANN"), a nonprofit corporation that is responsible for coordinating the management of the technical elements of the internet's Domain Name System. Jones Day represents governmental and political entities such as LA County; the City of Chicago; and the States of Georgia, Indiana, and Kansas. Our clients have also included sports and entertainment franchises and personalities such as the Cleveland Browns, Arsenal Football Club, Michael Jackson, and Nine Inch Nails. Really.
