Giles Elliott is co-head of the capital markets practice at the Firm, in charge of the European side of the practice. Giles has experience in corporate finance, public and private fund-raisings, IPOs, and mergers and acquisitions. He advises private and public companies, banks, and other financial institutions on corporate and commercial issues that includes: acting for issuers and sponsors/underwriters on IPOs and secondary fund-raisings; acting for companies on acquisitions and disposals, specifically cross-border deals; advising companies on hostile and recommended public takeover bids; and providing general advice on company and commercial issues to corporate clients.

His recent transactions involve advising:

• Credit Suisse First Boston and Nomura International on the initial public offering on the Official List of Ark Therapeutics Group plc and related global offering

• Connaught plc's introduction to the Official List

• Inion Oy, a Finnish medical device company, on its initial public offering on the Official List (he also advises Inion Oy with ongoing compliance and general corporate matters)

• Morgan Stanley Domestic Real Estate Funds on its acquisition of Executive Offices Group

• J.F. Lehman & Company in the acquisition of Racal Instruments Limited and subsequent disposal of the underlying businesses

• Ennstone plc in its contested offer for Johnston Group plc

• Ennstone plc in the disposal of the North American and European engineering business of Johnston Group plc and

• Kayterm plc in its offer for Jarvis Hotels plc.
