Jean-Louis Martin leads the Paris real estate practice. He is experienced in all aspects of real estate law and real estate investments, especially acquisitions and sales of real estate assets, portfolios, property companies, and real estate financing, including formation of real estate funds. He primarily represents international real estate investors, real estate funds, and institutional investors and financial institutions.

Jean-Louis has a great deal of experience in the sectors of office buildings and logistics platforms, including development projects for such real estate assets. He has been particularly involved in real estate investments made by the real estate funds managed by AIG European Real Estate Partners, AIG French Property Fund, Apollo Real Estate Advisors, Carlyle Real Estate Partners, Curzon Capital Partners, LaSalle Investment Management, Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds, Tishman Speyer Properties, and UBS Real Estate Europe and investors such as Bank of Ireland Private Banking Ltd., Irish Life, and Realia Business. Jean-Louis also represents French investors, REITS, and developers.

Jean-Louis also has been active in sports law for more than 12 years. He has been involved in major international sports events and regularly advises the French Professional Rugby League (Ligue Nationale de Rugby) with the sale of the national championship broadcasting rights. He also advised the Organization Committee of the 2003 Track and Field World Championships in Paris.

Before joining Jones Day in September 2004, Jean-Louis worked in the Paris office of Debevoise & Plimpton from 1994 to 2000 and then practiced in the real estate group at Clifford Chance from 2000 to 2004.

He has served as president of the Legal Committee of the French Professional Rugby League since June 2000. Jean-Louis is listed as one of the leading French real estate lawyers in the guides Chambers Global, PLC Which lawyer?, and The European Legal 500.
