Peter Vogl practices in the area of intellectual property law, including trademark, false advertising, anticounterfeiting, copyright, anticybersquatting, and trade secrets litigation; proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board; and trademark counseling and portfolio management on behalf of multinational and domestic consumer products companies in the sports equipment, beverage, cosmetics, personal care, apparel, games/toys, financial services, and chemical products fields. He has assisted clients with trademark and copyright audits, securitizations, acquisitions, and divestitures of substantial intellectual property portfolios.

Peter's substantial experience in anticounterfeiting matters includes numerous ex parte seizures of counterfeit products and coordinating enforcement efforts with U.S. Customs and other domestic and foreign governmental organizations.

He has extensive experience in bringing and defending Lanham Act cases and challenges before the National Advertising Division (NAD) of the Better Business Bureau.

Peter has been selected by the editors of Euromoney magazine as one of the leading trademark experts in the United States. He is a member of many domestic and international legal associations, including the United States Council for International Business, where he serves on the organization's Intellectual Property Steering Committee, responsible for its BASCAP anticounterfeiting initiative. Peter is also a member of the New York Intellectual Property Law Association, the International Trademark Association, the American Council on Germany, and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.

His international experience includes working at two prestigious firms in Europe. From 1981 to 1983, he practiced at Greiter & Schwank in Innsbruck, Austria where he counseled the firm's clients in matters relating to products liability, contracts, and intellectual property. While an associate with Pennie & Edmonds, he was selected by the firm's foreign intern program for an internship with the firm of Wessing Berenberg-Gossler Zimmermann Lange in Munich, Germany from September 1992 through February 1993.

While in Germany he participated in intellectual property litigation before German courts in Munich, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, and Dresden and before the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg. He also counseled European and American clients on issues relating to patent, copyright, trademark, false advertising, anticounterfeiting, parallel importation of pharmaceuticals, and trade secret protection matters.
