Richard Puttré is a member of the Firm's banking & finance practice and is cochair of the global infrastructure practice. Richard has extensive experience in international project finance transactions and represents financial institutions and project sponsors in the development, financing, construction, and operation of major infrastructure projects, power generation and transmission assets, waste treatment facilities, desalination plants, and manufacturing facilities throughout the world. He also has been actively involved in the nascent public-private partnership sector in the United States, representing various clients in connection with major greenfield and brownfield projects in Illinois, Indiana, Colorado, and Texas. Richard has counseled clients in all phases of projects, including structuring, contract negotiation, financing and post-financing matters, restructurings, and acquisitions. His experience includes bank, capital market, and lease financings as well as structures involving multilateral and export credit agencies and providers of political and financial risk insurance coverage. In addition, Richard regularly represents lenders, underwriters, and borrowers in conventional and complex financing structures, including traditional secured and unsecured lending; complex cross-border, multicurrency, and multifacility credit arrangements; bridge and other acquisition financings; issuance of registered and nonregistered debt securities; and synthetic and leveraged lease financings.
Richard is a member of the Firm's Latin American practice and has participated in numerous transactions throughout the region, including project finance, corporate finance, privatizations, real estate and hotel development projects, and general corporate matters in Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Costa Rica, and Peru. In addition, he has participated in corporate and finance transactions in the United States, Spain, the United Kingdom, Canada, the Philippines, Egypt, Indonesia, Russia, and Lebanon.
