Stefano Macchi di Cellere leads the antitrust & competition as well as the intellectual property & technology law practices in the Milan Office. He provides counseling on Italian antitrust laws and the EC Treaty provisions, acting in concentration and cartel cases before the Italian Antitrust Authority and assisting global enterprises on abuse of dominant position claims and investigations in Italy. He routinely advises multinational groups on joint ventures, commercial transactions, and contractual matters and has handled numerous acquisitions in a wide range of manufacturing businesses, from the pharmaceuticals and health care sector to the automotive and media industry.

He has gained extensive experience in communications law representing international clients since the liberalization of the industry. He works with operators involved in fixed, mobile, and satellite networks and services and advises corporations on radio and television broadcasting, information technology, personal data protection, and Internet communications. He assists start-up companies as well as incumbents in regulatory matters, particularly in obtaining general authorizations from the Ministry of Communications and in procedures and disputes before the Italian Communications Authority. In court proceedings and arbitrations he deals with intellectual property and high-tech products cases and copyright, trademarks, and patent law litigation.

He is an author and speaker on communications and antitrust law topics and a regular contributor to the World Bank's Doing Business annual reports.
