Tim Melton is co-head of the capital markets practice at the Firm, in charge of the U.S. side of the practice. Tim's experience includes a wide variety of corporate transactions for emerging growth and mature companies, representing both investment banks and issuers. Tim recently worked on transactions involving USG, Exide Technologies, Atlas Energy, FTD, Orbitz, Duchossois Industries, Warren Resources, Wintrust Financial, Spanx, and FleetPride in a variety of corporate matters, including start-up structuring and formation, public and private securities offerings (including initial public offerings), strategic partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, and general compliance issues.
Tim also advises technology-focused ventures on a broad range of legal and business issues involving corporate finance, strategic alliances and acquisitions, and the leveraging and exploitation of technology solutions. He represents clients in many different industries, including technology-focused activities in investment and merchant banking, energy, manufacturing, e-commerce, telecommunications, consumer products, health care, real estate, information management, and education.
Tim has been recognized in various publications as a leading corporate lawyer, including being selected as one of the top business lawyers in Illinois by the Leading Lawyer Network, Who's Who Legal, and Super Lawyers. Tim serves as Chair of the Advisory Board of Cabrini Green Legal Aid Clinic.
