Tim Melton counsels a diverse range of corporations, financial institutions, and their boards of directors, focusing on corporate finance and corporate governance matters. He regularly advises public and private companies on matters relating to governance, securities regulations, financing strategies and alternatives, and stockholder activism. He also has significant experience representing financial institutions in connection with public and private financings and various restructuring scenarios. Tim is co-head of the Firm's Capital Markets Practice.
Recently, he has worked closely with Atlas Energy, Dana, Exide Technologies, FleetPride, FTD Group, Metaldyne, MYR Group, Spanx, Woodward Governor, and USG.
Tim has been recognized in various publications as a leading corporate lawyer, including being selected as one of the top business lawyers in Illinois by the Leading Lawyer Network, Who's Who Legal, and Super Lawyers. Tim serves as Chair of the Advisory Board of Cabrini Green Legal Aid.
