Prior to rejoining Jones Day in 1996, Tom was a principal litigator with one of the five major German law firms. He practices German and international litigation and arbitration. He is admitted to the Oberlandesgericht (higher regional court) Frankfurt am Main and specializes in civil and commercial proceedings before German courts and international arbitral institutions, as well as white-collar crime defense.

Tom is currently handling several major German and international litigation matters at the Firm, particularly German civil litigations in the commercial, construction, banking, agency, intellectual property, and general contracting areas, including injunctive and enforcement proceedings. He is dealing with international arbitration issues under German, Dutch, and U.S. law in the commercial, construction, and shareholders context.

Tom is fluent in German and English. He is the author of articles in English and German on transnational litigation, criminal law, and arbitration issues, including the reform of Chapter 10 German Code of Civil Procedure respecting German domestic and international arbitration.
