An Evening with Rotary International and Jones Day
Jones Day's Melbourne Office
The Firm's Melbourne Office recently hosted a panel discussion, in conjunction with Rotary Action Group Against Slavery (RAGAS), on human trafficking and modern slavery.
The panelists spoke about the impact and risks of human trafficking and modern slavery in Australia, discussing strategies for corporates to mitigate modern slavery risks and the way in which the Australian Modern Slavery Act has changed the human rights dialogue among Australian board members.
The session was moderated by partner Tim L'Estrange, with panelists Dave McCleary (Chair Emeritus, RAGAS), Chris Crewther MP (Member for Mornington, Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Justice and Corrections), Holly Woodcroft (Corporate Counsel, Communities and Social Performance and External Affairs, Rio Tinto), Felicia Patrascu (former field worker at the International Justice Mission (IJM) in the European program), and associate Grëtel Cannon.
Jones Day and RAGAS collaborated on the Global Compendium—Human Trafficking Laws.
