Patrón Spirits obtains summary judgment in defense of executive compensation claims brought by former officer and director
Client(s) Patrón Spirits International AG
Jones Day represented Patrón Spirits International AG and its majority shareholder, John Paul DeJoria, in a case against a former president and director of the company. The former executive, who was terminated in 2008, claimed he was entitled to between $40 and $100 million from the company pursuant to a purported "V.V.I.P. [very, very important person] Agreement." After two years of contested litigation spanning several states and countries, Patrón and Mr. DeJoria obtained summary judgment as to all claims and causes of action.
