Texas company successfully defends False Claims Act suit
Client(s) Texas company
Jones Day represented a Texas company and an individual defendant in a False Claims Act case alleging that the defendants improperly secured a Paycheck Protection Program loan. The government investigated and declined to intervene, after which the complaint was unsealed. On behalf of the defendants, Jones Day successfully convinced the qui tam relator to dismiss the claims prior to a formal response being filed, and, after the government consented, the court dismissed the case in its entirety.
