Mitsubishi participates in uranium exploration projects in Mongolia

Jones Day advised Mitsubishi Corporation on the creation of a strategic partnership with Areva NC regarding uranium exploration projects in the Provinces of Dornogobi and Sukhbaatar in Mongolia.

Pursuant to this strategic agreement, which was signed on December 18, 2009, Mitsubishi will acquire the right to purchase 34% of the share capital of Areva Mongol, the owner of the exploration rights of 36 uranium exploration licenses on more than 14,000 km2, in exchange for a proportional contribution to Areva's past and future expenditures in Mongolia.

In addition to M&A representation, Jones Day provided environmental law advice regarding this transaction.
