Days before a three-week jury trial was set to begin, Jones Day obtained summary judgment for Advocate on plaintiff's most significant claim, her race retaliation claim. Soon thereafter, Advocate significantly limited the remaining issues for trial through a series of successful motions in limine, allowing the case to settle for a nominal amount the night before trial.
