DIRECTV prevails in contract and patent matter

Client(s) DIRECTV Group, Inc., The

Jones Day successfully represented The DIRECTV Group, Inc. in its claim for millions of dollars of contractual indemnity in a matter requiring interpretation of underlying patent infringement claims. The arbitrators unanimously ruled in favor of DIRECTV on all of its claims of about $30 million in damages and denied the vendor's counterclaims of $50 million. The award was recognized by The Daily Journal as one of the Top 10 Plaintiff's Verdicts of 2010.
