Mesa prevails in action seeking to recover improperly retained jet aircraft engines

Jones Day represented Mesa Air Group, Inc. in an action to recover seven of Mesa's jet aircraft engines that had been improperly retained by Delta Air Lines, Inc.'s engine maintenance division. After obtaining the return of the engines, Mesa prevailed on its motion for judgment on the pleadings invalidating Delta's statutory defense. Mesa ultimately resolved its remaining claims for damages and attorneys' fees as part of a global settlement with Delta during Mesa's Chapter 11 reorganization in 2011.
