Yazaki defends against antitrust investigations
Client(s) Yazaki Corporation
Jones Day represented Yazaki Corporation and its U.S. subsidiary, Yazaki North America, Inc. ("YNA"), in connection with a criminal antitrust investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice into alleged bid rigging and price fixing related to automotive wire harnesses and certain so-called "related products," carried out at the same time as similar investigations by foreign antitrust enforcers in Japan, Europe and Canada. Search warrants were executed on several YNA offices, and dawn raids were carried out at the company and its European subsidiary, Yazaki Europe Limited. We coordinated with the company's foreign local counsel handling investigations by their relevant authorities, and also represent the company and YNA in connection with all of the follow-on civil litigation in the U.S.
