Jones Day has represented a national retailer in state tax controversies across the U.S. pertaining to the refund of sales tax remitted on credit card accounts written off as worthless.  Jones Day's services have included defending the refund claims on audit and representing the client in administrative forums and counts in multiple states.  Jones Day has also advised on the drafting of contracts to address the refund of sales tax paid on worthless accounts.
