Canon wins ITC decision of non-infringement of patent claims relating to flash memory card readers
Client(s) Canon Inc. and Canon U.S.A. Inc.
Jones Day successfully defended Canon Inc. against claims of patent infringement relating to flash memory card readers. Complainant, Technology Properties Limited, sued Canon Inc. and several other respondents in March 2012. The case was tried in January 2013 before an ITC administrative law judge. On August 2, 2013, the Administrative Law Judge issued his initial determination finding that none of Canon Inc.'s accused products containing the accused card readers infringe any of the 12 asserted claims of the two patents asserted against Canon. The full Commission affirmed the finding of non-infringement on December 19, 2013.
