On behalf of Verizon Communications Inc., Jones Day obtained plaintiff's voluntary dismissal of claims in which plaintiff alleged disability discrimination and retaliation in violation of Iowa law. During written discovery, Jones Day requested production of plaintiff's social media records. Those records revealed information that called into question the merit of Plaintiff's claims for emotional distress. During his deposition, Jones Day obtained many important admissions, both that impacted Plaintiff's claims for emotional distress and his alleged employment relationship with Jones Day's client. Immediately after the deposition, plaintiff filed a voluntary dismissal of all claims.
