Hawai'i Pacific Health develops accountable care arrangement with Hawai'i Medical Service Association

Jones Day represented Hawai'i Pacific Health in the development and negotiation of a commercial "accountable care arrangement" with Hawai'i Medical Service Association (Blue Cross Blue Shield of Hawai'i). The five-year arrangement contemplates both value-based and risk-based reimbursement methodologies, and it ties compensation paid to Hawai'i Pacific Health to its ability to improve quality, mitigate rising costs, and expand access to care.

Hawai'i Pacific Health, Hawai'i's largest health care provider, is an integrated delivery system consisting of four hospitals, 49 outpatient clinics and service sites, and more than 1,300 employed and affiliated physicians.
