Experian Data Corp. ("EDC") has retained Jones Day to represent its interests in a lawsuit between EDC and Court Ventures Inc. ("CVI") related to the March 2012 acquisition by EDC of certain CVI assets, a company that focuses on collecting court records. As a side to its primary business, CVI, at the time of acquisition, had a contract with U.S. Info Search, which allowed customers of CVI to access U.S. Info Search’s data to find the address of a person in order to determine which court records to review.
