Jones Day joins Swords to Plowshares veterans pro bono project

Jones Day is partnering with the non-profit organization Swords to Plowshares to offer pro bono legal services to Bay Area veterans. Founded in San Francisco in 1974, Swords to Plowshares provides legal assistance to veterans, as well as counseling and training on a range of issues including health and social services, housing, employment and job training. The pro bono program will initially focus on benefits applications and appeals, and discharge status upgrade petitions. Jones Day attorneys will also be able to staff clinics alongside members of the Swords to Plowshares legal team and attorneys from other participating firms, and represent individual veterans for longer term engagements.
