Telecommunications company prevails in bidding dispute with local school district over E-Rate contract
Client(s) Telecommunications company
In addition to providing frequent regulatory advice and assistance obtaining and responding to Freedom of Information Act requests on behalf of a telecommunications company, Jones Day defended the enforcement of a federally-funded E-Rate contract which had been improperly re-awarded to another bidder. Working in El Paso, Texas, Jones Day filed a temporary restraining order against the school district to enjoin it from re-awarding the contract to another bidder after the contract had already been awarded to the firm's client. Upon notice of the illegality of the re-award, as well as multiple failures within the alternate bidder's proposal, the school district rescinded its re-award of the contract.
