Semiconductor manufacturer prevails against breach of contract claims
Client(s) Semiconductor manufacturer
On October 13, 2016, Jones Day obtained an arbitration award in favor of our client, a worldwide semiconductor manufacturer ("the Company"), rejecting breach of contract and statutory claims seeking damages in excess of $1,200,000. The Claimant, a former sales representative, brought the claims against the Company over allegedly unpaid sales commissions following the expiration of the parties' sales agreement. The Claimant sought treble damages through its statutory claim. In addition to rejecting all claims asserted by the Claimant, the Arbitrator ordered the Claimant to pay all arbitration expenses incurred by the Company.
