Jones Day represented Daikin Industries, Ltd. and Daikin America, Inc. in a patent infringement suit brought by Chemours Company FC, LLC in Delaware federal court. Chemours alleged that several Daikin fluoropolymer products used in high-speed extrusion and wire coating applications infringe two patents owned by Chemours. Jones Day also represented both Daikin entities before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and prevailed in two petitions for inter partes review challenging the Chemours patents. The parties ultimately settled the dispute on the eve of trial.
