NXP challenges competitor's 14 RFID patents at PTAB

Jones Day represented petitioner NXP USA, Inc. in several inter partes review (IPR) and post grant review (PGR) proceedings at the United States Patent Office's Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). NXP challenged the validity of claims of 14 radio frequency identification (RFID) patents asserted by competitor Impinj, Inc. against NXP in lawsuits filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and the Western District of Texas. NXP’s challenges resulted in the cancellation of 103 claims.
