H&R Block defeats patent infringement case brought by Uniloc
Client(s) H&R Block, Inc.
Jones Day successfully defended H&R Block, Inc. in a multi-patent infringement lawsuit brought by Uniloc USA, Inc. The asserted patents generally relate to electronic distribution and user preferences for computer application programs. Following dismissal of the ultimate parent H&R Block entity for lack of personal jurisdiction, Jones Day filed a motion to transfer to California for improper venue. Uniloc then chose to voluntarily dismiss the entire case prior to any ruling on that motion.
