In October 2022, an Ohio court of appeals affirmed summary judgment in favor of Jones Day's client, a leading distributor of consumer lawn and garden products. The plaintiff asserted misappropriation of its alleged trade secrets under the Ohio Uniform Trade Secrets Act and other common-law claims. Jones Day demonstrated that the plaintiff's misappropriation claim was time-barred and that its other claims were statutorily displaced. The trial court agreed and entered judgment in favor of Jones Day's client. The court of appeals overruled each of plaintiff's assignment of errors and affirmed judgment.
