U.S. Chamber of Commerce files amici curiae brief in OSHA mandamus case
Client(s) U.S. Chamber of Commerce, The National Federation of Independent Business, Restaurant Law Center, The Air Conditioning Contractors of America, Independent Electrical Contractors, The National Fisheries Institute
Jones Day filed an amici curiae brief on behalf of the United States Chamber of Commerce and other trade associations opposing a mandamus petition which sought to order OSHA to adopt an emergency temporary standard during the COVID-19 pandemic. The brief principally argued that a new standard is unnecessary because existing workplace safety standards and industry-specific guidance already provide detailed information to help employers protect the health and safety of America’s workers. The D.C. Circuit denied the mandamus petition.
