NXP settles global patent dispute with MediaTek over semiconductor technology

Jones Day represented NXP Semiconductors N.V. et al. as complainant/plaintiff in a patent infringement dispute against competitor MediaTek Inc. et al. before the International Trade Commission (ITC) and the United States District Court for the Central District of California. NXP alleged infringement of five patents directed to semiconductor circuit technology. The district court case was stayed pending resolution of the ITC case. Just days before the start of the July 2022 five-day evidentiary hearing the dispute was resolved as part of a global settlement between the parties.
