Private equity firm and portfolio company obtain voluntary dismissal of employment-related claims
Client(s) Private equity firm
Jones Day represented a private equity firm and one of its portfolio companies in litigation brought by a former remote employee of the portfolio company. The former employee asserted claims of breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, breach of mutual non-disclosure agreement, tortious interference with business and contractual relations, fraud, unjust enrichment, wrongful termination, and dissolution of joint venture/partnership and accounting, alleging that she was hired by the portfolio company and subsequently terminated after the company gained control of clients and employees from her business. The case was dismissed after briefing motions to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction and failure to state a claim.
