Jones Day successfully represented an asylum seeker in a Migrant Protection Protocol ("MPP") case from a tent facility in Laredo, Texas. The Client was beaten, extorted, threatened, and jailed because he opposed the Cuban government and feared that he would be killed if he returned to Cuba. The Immigration Judge granted asylum based on the government’s persecution of the Client for his political beliefs.
