Genomatica grants license to make bio-based, sustainable BDO to Hyosung TNC for manufacture of bio-based Spandex

Jones Day represented Genomatica, Inc. in its license to Hyosung TNC under Genomatica's proprietary, bio-based process and engineered microorganisms to manufacture 1,4 butanediol (BDO) by fermentation of sugar sources. The BDO process is substitute for petroleum-based production methods, avoids an estimated 90% of greenhouse gases for such production, and is used to make Spandex fiber for textiles.
