R.J. Reynolds asserts patent infringement claims at ITC against dozens of respondents over disposable vaporizers

Jones Day represents R.J. Reynolds entities as complainants in a Section 337 patent infringement investigation before the International Trade Commission (ITC) against dozens of respondents, alleging infringement of a patent directed to a disposable vaping device. Reynolds seeks a temporary limited exclusion order and temporary cease-and-desist orders to bar infringing vaping devices from entry into the United States during the pendency of the investigation, the issuance of a permanent general exclusion order, or alternatively, a permanent limited exclusion order directed to each of the proposed respondents. Reynolds also seeks issuance of permanent cease-and-desist orders.
