Jones Day represented Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority (ACTA) in contractual disputes with two railroads concerning certain fees to be paid to repay the bonds issued for construction of the $2.4 billion Alameda Corridor linking the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach with the transcontinental rail network. We obtained a settlement publicly valued in excess of $1 billion in terms of future payments over the life of the bonds.
