Chevron Geothermal defends against claims by EPC contractor on 110 MW geothermal power plant in Indonesia

Jones Day represented Chevron Geothermal Indonesia, Ltd. in disputes with a contractor over the performance of an EPC contract for a 110 MW geothermal power plant located in Indonesia. The disputes, which were to be resolved through arbitration under the rules of the Singapore International Arbitration Center, included competing claims concerning responsibility for 324 days of delay, liquidated damages, satisfaction of performance guarantees, acceleration, and a variety of technical issues.
