City of Hope and Beckman Institute develop new 45,000 square foot laboratory and research facility
Client(s) City of Hope National Medical Center and the Beckman Institute of the City of Hope
Jones Day represented City of Hope National Medical Center and the Beckman Institute of the City of Hope to negotiate and draft an architect agreement for the design of the new Gonda building, a 45,000 square foot, four story laboratory and research facility. The initial efforts on the project involved an integrated project delivery approach in cooperation with the construction contractor, and participation of design/build MEP contractors to participate in the Target Value Design process. The project was later converted to a traditional design-build-construct approach but with collaborative aspects reflected in the separated design and construction projects.
