Bonny Birkeland counsels clients on a wide variety of complex labor and employment issues, including discrimination and retaliation claims arising under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), as well as wage and hour matters. She also assists clients with labor and employment issues in connection with mergers and acquisitions and other business transactions.
In addition, Bonny has participated in the Firm's Border Project by providing on-the-ground legal support to asylum clients at a detention facility in Laredo, Texas and representing individuals seeking asylum in the United States.
Prior to law school, Bonny taught English in Istanbul, Turkey and Hanoi, Vietnam. Bonny serves on YMCA Camp Widjiwagan's Community Board of Directors.
