Emily Carey represents clients in complex civil litigation matters in state and federal courts. She has experience counseling clients on matters involving mass tort and environmental claims, international breach of contract claims, and claims arising under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

Emily also maintains an active pro bono practice, and she has spent time with the Firm's Border Project in Laredo, Texas counseling asylum seekers. She also represents immigrants seeking Special Immigrant Juvenile Status.

Prior to joining Jones Day in 2023, Emily served as a judicial law clerk for the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, where she worked on a wide range of matters including high-stakes patent infringement and Markman claim construction, U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) labeling requirements, and civil rights violations. During law school, Emily published several articles on COVID-19 laws and regulations as part of her work for the Center for Public Health Law and Policy at Arizona State University and received a Health Law and Policy Certificate upon graduation.
