Ashley Sarkozi's practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, class actions, and government investigations throughout the United States. Ashley has prosecuted and defended matters involving commercial and business disputes, data privacy and cybersecurity, trade secret misappropriation, products liability, and unfair competition.
Ashley served as a critical team member in a high-stakes trade secrets dispute, which was recognized by the Daily Journal as a "Top Defense Verdict" in California for 2021. She has experience in all aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings and pretrial motions, conducting factual investigation and discovery, taking and defending depositions, and trial. In addition to her litigation experience, Ashley represents clients in responding to government investigations and enforcement actions, including from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and various state regulators and prosecutors.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Ashley served as a law clerk to the Honorable Garland E. Burrell and the Honorable Troy L. Nunley in the Eastern District of California, where she gained experience working on a range of civil and criminal matters. Ashley dedicates time to pro bono initiatives and has successfully briefed and argued multiple asylum cases on behalf of persecuted refugees, as well as assisted on a successful appeal involving a novel First Amendment issue.
