Randy Kay, Greg Lanier, and Ka-on Li among Daily Journal's Top Intellectual Property Lawyers for 2024

Randy Kay, Greg Lanier, and Ka-on Li are among the top Intellectual Property lawyers in California for 2024, according to the Daily Journal. All three lawyers are in Jones Day's Intellectual Property Practice.

Mr. Kay, of the San Diego Office, is on the Daily Journal's Top IP Lawyer list for the tenth time. He represents intellectual property owners in domestic and cross-border trade secret, patent, and other IP disputes. Chair of Jones Day's global Trade Secrets team, Mr. Kay has successfully led some of the most notable and sizable U.S. trade secret lawsuits. He focuses on technology, telecommunications, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and medical device matters. He has over 30 years of experience handling injunctions, trials, arbitrations, and appeals.

Mr. Lanier, of the Silicon Valley Office, has led technology and complex business trials for over 35 years—working on five trials in 2023 alone. He has spent his entire career based in Silicon Valley, and has led jury and bench trials, arbitrations and major hearings in the toughest IP litigation venues across the U.S. involving clients and adversaries from around the world. Mr. Lanier's practice includes a wide range of technologies from circuits to software and medical devices to pharmaceuticals.

Ms. Li, of the Silicon Valley Office, is the co-leader of Jones Day's IP Transactions team. She advises top players and innovators around the globe across a wide swath of fields from AI, life sciences, and fintech, to big data and open source, on their most strategic transactions. Ms. Li is particularly sought-after for her experience with legal and business issues that arise in the commercialization of products involving extensive collaboration and sharing of IP between parties.
