The Legal 500 EMEA: Green Guide 2024 recognizes Jones Day in the Netherlands

Jones Day has been recognized in the Legal 500 Green Guide: EMEA 2024 for its ESG work in the Netherlands.

The guide commended the Firm's Amsterdam Office for its ongoing key contributions to the wider European ESG team and "long-standing and incisive expertise regarding clean energy transactions and impact investing."

"As the Netherlands has become an increasingly popular venue for environmental-related lawsuits against companies, we are pleased that Green Guides recognized the strength of our ESG practice overall and our litigators in that region. We are well positioned to help our clients," said Howard Sidman, the Firm's Global Deputy Chair of ESG.

Highlighted matters include advising the management shareholders of Lekela Power in an acquisition that was Africa's biggest renewable energy deal; Climate Fund Managers on its investment in Release Management B.V., which invests in solar projects in Africa; and Climate Fund Managers on investment funds related to renewable energy.

The Green Guide also highlighted Jones Day's thought leadership in the ESG space, including green bond standards, deforestation regulation, and climate change litigation.

The Legal 500 EMEA: Green Guide recognizes law firms' green transition work, dedication to internal and operational sustainability, and external engagements in the space.
