Jones Day partner Kelsey Israel-Trummel named to Daily Journal Top 40 Under 40 list

Jones Day’s Kelsey Israel-Trummel was named to the Daily Journal Top 40 Under 40 list for 2024 which celebrates the achievements of lawyers under the age of forty. A partner in the Labor & Employment practice, she has more than a decade of experience representing employers in labor and employment matters, including wage and hour, discrimination, and wrongful termination cases—and has developed particular experience in complex wage and hour class actions and representative lawsuits filed under California's Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) statute. She regularly practices in state and federal courts at both the trial court and appellate levels.

Recent wins include a published opinion in a statewide PAGA action in which the California Court of Appeal ruled in client Ecolab’s favor and endorsed percentage-based bonuses for the first time and a summary judgment win on behalf of the California Hospital Association finding that portions of a local initiative attempting to limit how employers could react to increases in minimum wage requirements were facially unconstitutional.

The Firm is distinguished by: a singular tradition of client service; the mutual commitment to, and the seamless collaboration of, a true partnership; formidable legal talent across multiple disciplines and jurisdictions; and shared professional values that focus on client needs.
