Jones Day partner Liat Yamini named to LABJ Leaders of Influence: Labor & Employment Attorneys list

Jones Day Labor & Employment partner Liat Yamini has been named to the Los Angeles Business Journal (LABJ) list of "Leaders of Influence: Labor & Employment Attorneys." Ms. Yamini's  employment litigation practice focuses on California wage and hour class and representative Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) action cases, and related counseling. She has helped defeat class certification in several wage and hour class actions, including claims for unpaid overtime, misclassification, meal and rest period premiums, reporting time-pay, and split-shift premiums, along with claims for/asserting failure to pay minimum wages. A recent example includes as the lead partner on a wrongful termination and unpaid wages claim brought by four former seasonal employees on behalf of Jones Day's client United Parcel Service (UPS) where she successfully obtained summary judgment on seven of the nine claims. Additionally, she and the Jones Day team won summary judgment for McDonald's in a PAGA action defeating the claim that employees of McDonald's were denied suitable seating.

Since 2022, Ms. Yamini has been the administrative partner for Jones Day's Los Angeles Office. She was also recognized previously on the LABJ list of Women of Influence in 2021 and on the Daily Journal's list of Top Labor and Employment Lawyers in 2020.
