Gurneet Singh to lead South Asian Bar Association of Northern California
Gurneet Singh has been elected to serve as President-elect of the South Asian Bar Association of Northern California (SABA-NC), which has a distinguished history of over 30 years. He officially assumed his new role during SABA-NC's annual gala on April 4, 2025. The event, held at the Design Center of San Francisco in the presence of nearly 300 attendees, brought together judges, in-house counsel, outside counsel, government lawyers, academics, and community leaders.
Mr. Singh is an intellectual property lawyer with more than a decade of experience in IP law. Based in the Silicon Valley Office of Jones Day, he is part of the Firm's Intellectual Property Practice, where he focuses on patent litigation across federal courts, the International Trade Commission (ITC), and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). His recent accomplishments include successfully representing high-profile clients in complex and high-stakes IP disputes involving mobile devices, streaming, and gaming technologies.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Singh is deeply committed to pro bono work and community service. He has provided legal counsel to more than 30 asylum seekers detained at the U.S.-Mexico border, helping them navigate fears of persecution in their home countries. Additionally, he supports military veterans, and recently assisted one with a discharge upgrade request. Locally, Mr. Singh contributes to the Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County by serving on a committee that organizes one of its largest fundraising events.
SABA North America recently recognized Mr. Singh as one of six 2024 Rising Stars across North America, in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the legal profession.
