Alon USA recovers claim in SemCrude bankruptcy

Client(s) Alon USA LP

Jones Day represented Alon USA, LP, an independent refiner and marketer of petroleum products, as a creditor with $40 million in claims, including administrative claims, in the bankruptcy of SemCrude L.P., et al. The Firm litigated, on behalf of Alon, a request for immediate payment of its administrative claim, which was ultimately settled pursuant to an agreement under which Alon obtained a return of over $6 million in petroleum products and allowance of its remaining administrative claim.
