Allina Health obtains complete defense verdict in malpractice case

Jones Day obtained a full defense verdict in a malpractice case on behalf of Allina Health System, one of the largest non-profit health systems in Minnesota. The matter involved a brain injury allegedly suffered during the birth of the minor plaintiff. The jury returned a full defense verdict for Allina, finding no violation of the standard of care, and declining to award any portion of the plaintiff’s request for $36 million in damages.
